“RLC
of Texas Privacy Proclamation” with Congressman Ron Paul:
February
17, 2003 - University of Texas - Austin
The Honorable Congressman Ron Paul is coming to Austin February 17th, 2003, for the Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas Austin Privacy Proclamation! The next generation of Americans will enjoy the freedoms purchased through the sacrifice of America’s founders and contemporary supporters, and not tolerate government spying through the PATRIOT Act or Homeland Security Departments. The government that failed to protect America from foreign attack by a credible, identifiable enemy (i.e. bin Laden’s Al
Quaeda), in spite of trillions of defense tax dollars, should not be vested with additional Unconstitutional spying powers to be enforced on innocent American Citizens.
Event Details:
WHAT: “RLC-TX Privacy Proclamation” with Congressman Ron Paul
WHEN: February 17th, 2003
SCHEDULE:
- 5:45 PM – Private Reception with VIP supporters (details to

Congressman Paul wants to continue the debate on Privacy and he wants all Americans to get involved in safeguarding our heritage of liberty and promise of privacy from interminable big government snooping. It is the US Constitution -- and all the people who defend it -- that secures the American nation and protects its liberty, not the Homeland Security Department.
You are cordially invited to sponsor this important event at the University of Texas Law School, and further distinguish your crucial contribution to the contemporary American Republic. All sponsors (supporters and above) are invited to an exclusive VIP reception with Congressman Paul immediately preceding his lecture at the UT Law School Auditorium. Your private meeting with Congressman Paul will confirm your discernment that he is the preeminent statesman of the American Republic and defender of our Constitution!
Please contact Don Zimmerman directly (at the numbers below) as soon as possible concerning your VIP
reservation for the Private Reception with VIP Sponsors.

RLC
of Texas Executive Director visits Dr. Paul's oFFICE in D.C.:
REPORT:
January 7, 2003
Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas Executive Director Don Zimmerman visited Congressman Ron Paul's Congressional office in snowy Washington, D.C., for the reception during Dr. Paul's oath of office ceremony. About 50 people, both from CD-14 and from the D.C. area, milled about the office, enjoying the good company of liberty activists, fresh gulf coast shrimp and other luncheon treats. Since the actual swearing in ceremony was closed to the public, we used the time socializing with Ron's wife Carol and the D.C. staff.
Don met with Mr. David James, Director of the Liberty Study Committee, who is instrumental in fundraising for many of Dr. Paul's affiliated organizations. Among many other interesting people and discussions, Don also briefly discussed coordination with Mr. Kent Snyder, Executive Director of the Liberty Committee. Other interesting conversations with Mike Rothfeld (President, Saber Communications) and Norm Singleton (Legislative Director, Dr. Paul's D.C. office) were beneficial.
After the oath of office ceremony, Ron arrived and said the Congressional Liberty Caucus had just grown to 23 Congressional members - a net gain even after some prior members had left Congress. We also discussed the February 17th RLC-TX "Privacy Proclamation" where Ron will lecture at the UT Law School, along with the importance and difficulties of fundraising.
Dr. Paul and the entire D.C. staff appear energized and ready for another term to "uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States".

Our Purpose:
After decades of New Deal and Great Society social
activism ... combined with the rapid decline in civics and American history
education in our government-run public schools ... mixed with a growing
population of ill-informed and apathetic voters ... government at
every level in this country continues to be too big, too intrusive and
too expensive.
Founded in 1990, the Republican Liberty Caucus of
Texas works to advance the principles of limited
government, individual liberty and free markets within the Republican
Party and throughout Texas. Our focus is on a broad range of issues, including
education, taxation, property rights, gun rights, free speech, federalism and
the proper role of government.
In addition to giving disenfranchised smaller-government Republicans a home by
creating incentive to stay in our party, the Republican
Liberty Caucus of Texas helps avoid
a potential exodus to Libertarian, Constitutional, and other third parties,
which would end up weakening our thin margin over the Democrats, thus opening
the door to big-government victories from leftist candidates. The Republican
Liberty Caucus of Texas is
proud to promote the GOP's smaller-government message. Our limited
government, individual liberty and free market ideas will win by inclusion.
There is strength in numbers.
While rolling back decades of government "nannyism" will require a
great deal of public education and grassroots lobbying, the most important
means of changing public policy is to change public officials. Therefore, the Republican
Liberty Caucus of Texas works
to elect pro-liberty Republicans to offices at all levels,
partisan and non-partisan, in both primary and general elections.
The Republican Liberty Caucus of
Texas is committed not to just electing more Republicans
... but better ones, as well.
